LeAnn Naillon - Idaho Network for Service
Mar. 12, 2026 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Idaho Network for Service

Speaker: LeAnn Naillon

Celebrating Service. Connecting Communities. Inspiring the Future.

The Idaho Network for Service (INFS) is a community effort to recognize and elevate the spirit of service across Idaho. INFS brings together schools, nonprofits, service clubs, faith communities, and civic leaders to:

✅ Honor the past by sharing the stories of service that shaped our communities.
✅ Celebrate the present by lifting up everyday acts of service happening all around us.
✅ Inspire the future by engaging youth, neighbors, and organizations to carry forward a vibrant culture of service.

Through Visioning Huddles, local exhibits, and civic conversations, INFS helps Idahoans see themselves reflected in a broader story of service. Our work is volunteer-powered, community-driven, and designed to spark pride, connection, and action.

Everyone has a story of service. Everyone belongs in this network.

Norb Murray - Marine One
Apr. 02, 2026 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Norb Murray - Former Pilot of Marine One Helecopter

Norb Murray is a retired U.S. Marine Corps aviator, former presidential helicopter pilot, and lifelong community leader whose story blends courage, humor, humility, and service. Over a 25-year military career, Norb flew combat missions in Vietnam and later served with Marine Helicopter Squadron One, piloting helicopters for Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Jimmy Carter. His firsthand accounts range from high-risk nighttime medevac missions in combat zones to landing on the White House lawn under national media scrutiny. After retiring from the Marine Corps, Norb built a second career in business and community leadership, devoting decades to Rotary and international humanitarian work. As a speaker, he brings authenticity, quiet strength, and powerful storytelling that leaves audiences inspired by resilience, duty, and a life committed to serving others.

Norb Murray’s History as a Marine Helicopter Pilot

Norb Murray entered the Marine Corps through the Aviation Cadet program in 1964 and earned both his commission and wings as a naval aviator during the early escalation of the Vietnam War. Assigned to helicopter operations in I Corps near the Demilitarized Zone, he flew combat support missions including troop insertions, resupply, and high-risk nighttime medevac operations under fire. His experiences ranged from landing in hostile zones illuminated only by flares to evacuating critically wounded Marines in life-or-death conditions. After Vietnam, he continued flying in a variety of operational and leadership roles before being selected for the elite Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1), the unit responsible for presidential helicopter transport—known by the call sign “Marine One” when carrying the President. During five years with the squadron, he flew missions supporting Presidents Nixon, Ford, and Carter, operating in complex airspace, adverse weather, and high-visibility environments where precision and discipline were paramount. Across 25 years of service, Norb’s aviation career reflected the Marine Corps ethos of courage, competence, and unwavering responsibility for every life on board.
