Fresh corn. Creative Commons: ayngelinaThe folks at Semilla Nueva fight malnutrition with better corn, and many of us Rotarians in the Treasure Valley have followed and supported Curt Bowen and others since they founded this social venture and 501(c)(3) based in Guatemala a few years ago. Now Semilla Nueva seeks a development and communications manager

Yes, this growing enterprise now needs someone with development and communication skills to join the leadership team and help take the organization's fundraising, partnerships and story to the next level.

Malnutrition is the biggest cause of childhood death around the world. To help solve this problem, Semilla Nueva's seeds provide farmers better yields and produce a more nutritious corn that gives kids the nutrients they need to grow. The organization reached 10,000 families last year, improving the nutrition of 250,000 people. Its goal is to reach 7 million people within the next three years.

If you or someone you know is an ambitious fundraiser and communicator who could help Semilla Nueva achieve that goal, get that application going! You don’t need to move to Guatemala, know Spanish or be able to drive stick — but they’d be happy if you did!
