Rotary Dictionary Project

We provide dictionaries to third-grade students at most Eagle and northwest Boise elementary schools, and we added two new schools in August 2024.

Shark-Pond Micro Loans

Idaho Rotarians set up an international micro-loan process to help entrepreneurs in Africa start or expand their businesses with small loans that are repaid and invested with new entrepreneurs. Loand recipients are taught the skills they need to run a successful small business and make proposals for their plans and ideas to be funded.

Everyday Leadership for 5th and 6th Graders

Working with local Elementary Schools, Rotary provides a curriculum for students who want to become future leaders in their communities. Students meet before school starts and learn leadership skills and plan out service projects they can do to serve their own communities.

Everyday Leadership is a collaborative effort created to provide Treasure Valley low-income 5th and 6th grade youth with the skills and self-confidence they need to graduate from high school and attain post-high school educations.

RYLA Youth Leadership Camp

We send local high school students to the annual, multiday RYLA camp to develop their leadership skills while having fun and making connections.

The core curriculum for RYLA includes the following:

  • Fundamentals of leadership
  • Ethics of positive leadership
  • Importance of communication skills in effective leadership
  • Problem-solving and conflict-management
  • What Rotary is and what it does for the local community and internationally
  • Building self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Elements of community and global citizenship
