🎄 Eagle-Garden City Rotary Club Christmas Message 🎄

As we celebrate this Christmas season, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the fellowship, compassion, and dedication that define our Eagle-Garden City Rotary family. This is a time to reflect on the impact we’ve made together — serving our community, uplifting others, and spreading hope where it’s needed most.

The true spirit of Christmas lies in giving — not just gifts, but our time, talents, and kindness. Each act of service, large or small, helps light the way toward a brighter and more caring world.

Thank you for your continued commitment to “Service Above Self.” May this season bring peace, joy, and renewal to you and your loved ones, and may the coming year be filled with new opportunities to make a difference.

Reclaim Idaho - Luke Mayville
Jan. 08, 2026 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Reclaim Idaho

Speaker: Luke Mayville, Co-founder, Executive Director

Reclaim Idaho’s mission is to build an Idaho where government works for all Idahoans and not just those with the most money and political influence. This means building an Idaho where all have access to affordable healthcare, protected public lands, and strong public schools.

Reclaim Idaho’s strategy is to win the change we seek through bottom-up, grassroots organizing in every Idaho community. We wage campaigns that focus not on political candidates or political parties but on issues that bring Idahoans together—issues like Medicaid Expansion and increased funding for K-12 education. One campaign at a time, we seek to grow a statewide movement of local leaders and volunteers with the power to demand change.

Reclaim Idaho’s theory of change focuses on the need to build the popular base of support for the change we seek. Our focus on base-building steers us away from extensive involvement in the campaigns of political candidates. If large numbers of Idahoans are not organized and united in support of issues like strong public schools and affordable healthcare, even the most hard-working candidates who advocate for these issues will lack a strong enough base on which to stand and will face nearly insurmountable odds.

Rotary Shark Pond - Micro Lending
Feb. 12, 2026 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Rotary Shark Pond
Working with a local Rotary Club in Africa, our club will be selecting a recipient of a $1000 micro-loan to help establish a business.

Shark Pond

Rotary District 5400’s “Entrapov” Committee stands for Entrepreneurs Against Poverty. This Rotary Committee connects sponsor-donors to small entrepreneurs in areas where the $US dollar goes a long way toward starting a business that lifts families out of poverty…permanently. We do this through a “pitch show” called Rotary Shark Pond. Entrepreneurs are prepared for the show by Rotarian committee members from clubs in Africa and the US. These budding entrepreneurs then compete for startup funds to launch their businesses. Sponsors choose who they would like to support and a friendship blossoms as they work together on the business. Watch the video to see how it works

Please arrive early if possible.  We will be looking to have 3 to 5 Rotarian as the "SHARK" panel to interview the potential loan recipients.

The meeting program with start promptly at NOON with club business taking place AFTER the google meet call we have with the folks in Africa.
